Dreaming of Caribbean beaches and the turquoise sea….Belize’s almost 200 mile long shoreline offers that and much more boasting the world´s second biggest coral reef. The Cayes just off the shore of Belize, consist of over 200 large and small islands and coral atolls protecting 70 different species of corals and more than 400 species of fish.

Pristine beaches and an exotic underwater world are not the only trademarks of Belize. In the Northwest, on the border to Guatemala and Mexico wild and lush rainforests dominate the scenery. An exotic wildlife, mystical rivers and Mayan ruins await you in the jungle lodges of Orange Walk and Lamanai.

In the South of Belize you will encounter the Cayo and Mountain Pine Ridge area. This region offers a wide variety of activities to choose from – canoe tours down the Macal River or exploring the Rio Frio while swimming in the natural swimming pools. Highlights of this area are the Mayan ruins Xuantunich and Caracol. The Caracol ruins are mainly overgrown but researchers assume that more people actually lived here in the 8th Century than today in all of Belize.

For those who want to relax far away from it all will choose the beaches in the South. Dangriga and Placencia are beautiful beach areas with remote beaches off the beaten path.
